How exact vehicle fit is measured and approved

A practical guide to make, model, year, trim, cavity geometry and the physical check that turns a concept into an approved fit.

Identity comes before dimensions

Make, model and registration year are only the start. Facelifts, trims, body styles and option packs can change the surface, cavity or control arrangement around an accessory.

Measure the working envelope

A useful fit includes more than the opening. We consider lid movement, reach, cable bend, cleaning access and the path an object follows as it is inserted and removed.

Approve with physical evidence

Final fit requires a physical vehicle check or an approved measurement set. Photos alone can hide tapers, undercuts and flexible trim, so uncertainty stays explicit until validated.
