Choosing materials for hot, quiet vehicle cabins

A clear comparison of ASA, ABS, suitable PETG, TPU, felt, magnets and inserts for heat-aware, low-rattle accessories.

Choose structure for the zone

ASA and suitable ABS are considered for heat-exposed structural shells; suitable PETG can work for tougher clips and guides when geometry and conditions support it.

Engineer the contact

TPU anti-rattle pads and automotive felt separate hard surfaces, add grip and reduce noise. Their placement should remain serviceable rather than hiding every interface under adhesive.

Keep electronics third-party

Magnets and threaded inserts can be integrated into the accessory body, but charging electronics must be certified third-party modules used within their published limits.
